Shipping has begun!

Our air shipment arrived from the factory yesterday, and last night we completed packaging all the single orders of red and green Wrap Buddies!

Today, the elves are working on single blues and then will proceed to the rest of the rewards in increasing size. We hope to complete as many by the end of Friday as possible as all the elves had already scheduled a week of holiday during Thanksgiving week (11/20-11/24) making shipping during that time impossible.

We're having some minor issues relating to getting tracking numbers published to you through Backerkit, but they're working with us to resolve this while we continue to package, label, and ship. We kinda think you'd rather have the product than the tracking number, but we'll get the tracking numbers out as soon as we can.

Again, thank you so much for your patience. I know we'll be cutting it close for some of you, but we're doing everything we can!

Shipping Update

Just a quick shipping update -- heard from the factory this morning that our air and sea shipments are ready to go. The air shipment containing all the backer rewards is due to depart Shanghai on 11/11. I'm not sure how many airports it goes through on its way here (I do know it goes from Shanghai to Tokyo but after that, it's rather opaque).

As I get updates from my logistics partner, I'll pass them along. Meanwhile, here's some beauty shots of...well, boxes wrapped on pallets.

While we're waiting for these to arrive, we're prepping boxes and getting ourselves ready to pick, pack, and ship as quickly as possible. Our plan right now is to start with orders for 1 and 2 Wrap Buddies (the majority of our backers) and proceed to larger orders from there.

Finalize your shipping address

This is it! We’re finally getting ready to ship! Our shipment is leaving the factory and will arrive here by air within a week or so. I want to be ready to pack & ship as quickly as possible after the shipment arrives. So...

We will lock down shipping addresses in 48 hours. That means you have two days to update your shipping address in your BackerKit survey.

If you need to review your shipping address, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://wrapbuddies.backerkit.com.

If you haven’t answered your survey yet, you can still fill it out to get your rewards, but your shipment may be delayed.

We’re currently aiming to ship rewards before the end of November. If you need to change your shipping address, please make the changes in your BackerKit survey in the next two days.

Production Update

Production Status

The latest update from our factory, which was unfortunately closed for a national holiday for the first week of October, is that we should expect our order to be complete by the end of the month. That's cutting it pretty close.

So we're evaluating two methods of shipping your rewards:

• Sending the whole shipment back to us here in Virginia, then sending them to you from here. This has the benefit of simplicity but may incur additional time, as the shipment will need to transit the ocean, then come to VA by freight, then spend a couple days being processed & packaged for you, and then rewards can go out. 
• Sending enough sets to fulfill all rewards to a shipping partner in Shanghai, who will package them and send them directly to you. This means a faster delivery for our international customers in particular but may also mean faster delivery for US backers as well. It does add an unknown in that the picking, packing and shipment function will be owned by a partner we haven't worked with before.

Cards charged

If you're one of our preorder customers, or if you added to your kickstarter order, then we charged your cards on 2 October. If there were any issues, you should have received an email directly from Backerkit. Don't feel you need to explain anything to us. Stuff happens. But if you could rectify the situation before the end of October, we'll be able to ship your rewards/preorders as expected.

Assembly Required

The factory sent me this video of our new tooling being used to assemble a Wrap Buddy. I thought it was pretty cool and hope you do too.
